"We Raise The Kind The Cowboys Ride" |
Romeo Blue
Congratulations Chip and Kathy Merritt for their |
Our senior sire, Romeo Blue is a 1992 grullo roan standing 15.2 hands and weighing in at 1400 pounds. Romeo is a double bred Blue Valentine making him 37.5% Blue Valentine. Everyone that has ever seen Romeo thinks he is the best Blue Valentine stud alive and that includes Chip Merritt, whose family owned the blue roan Joe Hancock grandson. The versatility of the Blue Valentines not only come from the Hancock bloodline, but also from Blue's dam as well. Between the Hancocks and the Driftwoods, the arena has pretty much been consistently dominated by these bloodlines far longer than any other. "Dell Haverty had read about roping in Texas where about fifteen of the top ropers were riding Valentine horses. He knew the great Toots Mansfield, whose calf roping world championships spanned three decades from the 1930's to the 1950's. Toots rode a good horse by Valentine."
